Operation Principle of Automobile Generator
The working principle of automobile AC generator is based on electromagnetic induction. When the engine is running, the AC generator rotor rotates through the belt. When the excitation winding on the rotor is energized, a magnetic field is generated, which magnetizes the salient poles into N poles and S poles. When the rotor rotates, its magnetic field cuts the stator winding, generating an alternating induced electromotive force in the stator winding, thereby outputting AC power. Then, the rectifier inside the AC generator converts the AC power into DC power to power the car's electrical system and battery.
Structure and composition of automobile generator
Rotor: Produces a rotating magnetic field, typically composed of salient poles, excitation winding, and slip rings.
Stator: The stationary part, consisting of the stator core and three-phase windings, responsible for generating alternating current.
