Structure of the starter motor
The starter motor is mainly composed of the following three parts:
DC motor
The core component, responsible for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy.
Internally includes an armature, magnetic poles, commutator, brushes, etc., and works based on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
Transmission mechanism
Mainly composed of a one-way clutch, drive gear, etc.
Its function is to transmit the torque of the motor to the engine flywheel, and automatically disengage after the engine starts, preventing the flywheel from driving the motor to rotate at high speed.
Control device (electromagnetic switch)
Includes an attracting coil, a holding coil, a moving iron core, etc.
Controls the on and off of the starter circuit to achieve the engagement and separation of the drive gear and the flywheel.
